21st Century Christian Education: Getting Students Ready!

Personal Introduction:

I am Deborah Joplin--20-years-of-teaching--ever growing and changing! I worked in the Bay area of California for 8 years. The picture was taken at one of my favorite places: Wells Fargo Center for the Arts, in Santa Rosa! While in CA, I completed the coursework to be an Arts Integration Specialist--one who integrates the Arts in their various forms into all curriculum to help students use their creativity to make meaning of learning. I also studied creative mathematics with Kim Sutton--don't miss taking a workshop in Creative Mathematics, if the opportunity comes up.

I am currently teaching in Idaho. Teaching for Christ is my passion. I love God's Word and learning to walk ever closer to our Savior and Messiah--Jesus. I love sharing that walk with my students! As a Christian Educator, I strive to lead by example--how to be prepared to live for Christ in the 21st Century, and prepare for the Second Coming of Christ and life in eternity!
This is a huge task empowered "one day at a time" by the Holy Spirit! I pray and meditate on this mission and journey for Christ each day.

My current Professional Development includes: Designing and Implementing STEaM Lessons and Maker Space. I am integrating new 21st Century ISTE Classroom Technology Standards with our very dense and intense Seventh-day-Adventist Curriculum! I am taking the course in Classroom Technology at Walla Walla University as I write. We are a Google G-Suite Classroom with SMART technology. I am working on teaching smarter! Teachers have a lot to teach and a lot to learn to prepare 21st Century students! I know I became a teacher as much because of my love for learning and my love for coaching learning! May God be with us in the Journey!
